A whirlwind of rushed sounds. I don’t know how the Dr. got it to sound so full, as even with no mastering it sounds very encompassing. Obviously a nice collection of pedals does that part well, but the swallowing/engulfing of the wall sounds particularly wonderful. Maybe the extra rough edges of the non-mastered sound makes it really particular. There is a wonderful high pulsating scrape rhythm that flows throughout “The World Is A Beautiful Place…” and it adds a very machine like scratch to the whale-like body of the wall. Even though the track is 10 minutes it does seem to end abruptly, fortunately the meeting of another wall takes place. A fluid continuation of the last one (this one dubbed “…To Be Trapped Inside”), with a very machine-like scrape hidden in the background somewhere. Or maybe my ears are being tricked and I am hearing something that is not there. It doesn’t matter. More static pulsating as a wave of noise, a wall that’s comforting and crackled.
I don’t think I’ll ever understand why anyone would not enjoy this type of sound. Obviously the best intentions are never really included in this style of “music” (if you want it to be called that), and there is always a sinister touch embedded with this, naturally. I Have Such Sights To Show You is a neat little piece of work (it’s a 3” CDr) that Dead Body Collection offers. Its covers are of dead bodies, obviously, and the song titles and sounds match very nicely. I’m not going to claim it’s the noise you put on when you want to make friends, or even the noise you put on to impress your friends, but you are on this blog and this blog isn’t the kind of blog that people with friends look at.
Once again, a 3” CDr with two tracks. Released on SSIP PISS (an imprint of the wonderful Sounding Session), and done really well.
